L’Associazione Cultura in Musica Limes promuove da più di vent’anni la divulgazione culturale e musicale sul Lago di Garda e nasce con lo scopo di diffondere la musica classica e l’educazione musicale nel territorio gardesano, valorizzandone allo stesso tempo la cultura, le tradizioni, la storia e la bellezza.
Il nome Limes è ispirato al paese di Limone sul Garda, dove l’associazione è nata ed ha la sua sede principale, ma anche dal concetto di limes come limite e confine che può e deve essere superato. I confini tra Musica e Natura vengono a sfumarsi. La musica viene inserita in una dimensione olistica, come arte che prende ispirazione dalla dimensione naturale.
In ogni edizione dell’International Chamber Music Festival viene valorizzato un aspetto della natura del territorio dell’Alto Garda Bresciano: aque intese come sorgenti, cùen come ripari fra le rocce, papillio come farfalle, sentèr come sentieri (e “sentire”), Aves come gli uccelli e Flores intesi come fiori. Tutti aspetti da ri-cercare e fotografare effettivamente nella natura del Lago di Garda.
Il 2019 prevede come tema musicale-fotografico-naturalistico il LEGNO – Lignum.
Per questo Cultura in Musica Limes vuole offrire non solo semplici concerti di musica classica, ma intende promuovere attraverso di essi la cultura, la storia, le tradizioni e la natura del territorio. Ogni anno viene edito un libretto (vedi qui le edizioni passate) che presenta il calendario e i programmi dei concerti, la descrizione dei luoghi e palazzi storici che li ospitano e delle vere e proprie ricerche sul territorio.
Cultura in Musica Limes promuove i propri concerti in palazzi storici e di grande valore architettonico, in chiese antiche e all’aperto, anche nei luoghi più ameni della sponda occidentale del Lago di Garda: il Lido Palace a Riva del Garda, la Chiesa San Giovanni di Pieve di Tremosine, il Santuario di Monte Castello, Palazzo Bettoni a Bogliaco di Gargnano, la Chiesa di San Pier D’Agrino, il Convento di San Tommaso a Villa di Gargnano, Villa Sostaga a Navazzo di Gargnano, il Museo della Carta nella Valle delle cartiere di Toscolano, la Chiesa di San Pietro e Paolo a Toscolano Maderno, Villa Alba di Gardone, luogo prediletto per la musica da camera, ed infine il bellissimo Palazzo dell’Isola del Garda che ospita uno storico pianoforte Bechstein.
Tutti questi luoghi ci vedono protagonisti durante i mesi più caldi dell’anno, al chiaro di luna o in accoglienti sale, con eventi che lasciano un segno.

Der Musikverein Associazione Cultura in Musica Limes fördert seit über zwanzig Jahren die Verbreitung von Musik und Kultur am Gardasee. Die Absicht war seit Anbeginn, klassische Musik und Musikerziehung unter Einbeziehung der Kultur, den örtlichen Traditionen, der lokalen Geschichte und der einzigartigen Landschaft, zu beleben und zu fördern.
Der Name Limes leitet sich von dem Ort Limone sul Garda ab, welcher seit jeher ein Grenzort darstellte, ( früher zu Österreich-heute als Grenzort zwischen den zwei Regionen Lombardei und Trentino), aber auch vom Konzept “Limes” als Limit oder als Grenze, zwischen verschiedenen Kulturen die überwunden werden kann und muss.
Die Grenzen zwischen Musik und Natur verschwimmen. Die Musik wird in einen ganzheitlichen Kontext gestellt, als eine Kunst, die aus der Natur entsteht und durch sie inspiriert wird.
Bei jedem der jährlich stattfindenden Festivals wird ein Aspekt des Naturparks Alto Garda Bresciano hervorgehoben: aque in der Bedeutung der Quellen, cùen als Schutzhöhlen in den Felsen, papillio als Schmetterlinge, sentèr als Fußwege (und als „fühlen“ bzw „hören“) , Aves als Vögel und Flores in der Bedeutung der Blumen.
All dies kann tatsächlich in der Natur am und um den See beobachtet und fotografiert werden.
Deshalb will Cultura in Musica Limes nicht nur einfach Konzerte mit klassischer Musik anbieten, sondern durch die Konzerte sollen die Kultur, die Geschichte, die Traditionen und die Natur dieses Gebiets einbezogen werden.
Jedes Jahr wird ein Programmheft (Libretto)herausgegeben (siehe hier die Ausgaben der vergangenen Jahre). Es enthält außer dem Konzertprogramm selbst auch eine Beschreibung der Orte und historischen Gebäude, in welchen die Konzerte stattfinden, sowie durchaus anspruchsvolle Betrachtungen über die lokalen Gegebenheiten.
2019 behandelt musikalisch-fotografisch-naturalistisch das Thema Holz (LIGNUM), in seinen ganz verschiedenen und vielfachen Aspekten.
Cultura in Musica Limes präsentiert die Konzerte in selten zugänglichen historischen Gebäuden von hohem architektonischen Wert, in alten Kirchen oder unter freiem Himmel, an einigen der schönsten Orte des westlichen Gardaseeufers: das Hotel Lido Palace in Riva del Garda, die Kirche San Giovanni in Pieve di Tremosine, die Wallfahrtskirche Monte Castello, Palazzo Bettoni in Bogliaco (Gargnano), die Kirche das Kloster San Tommaso in Villa (Gargnano), Villa Sostaga in Navazzo (Gargnano), das Museum im Papiermühlental von Toscolano, die Kirche San Pietro und Paolo in Toscolano Maderno, die traditionsreiche Villa Alba in Gardone, hervorragend geeignet und berühmt für Kammermusik.
Alle diese Orte sind in den Sommermonaten Schauplatz unserer Konzerte: einige bei Mondschein, andere in ansprechender Umgebung, doch jedes dieser Konzerte hat sein ganz besonderes Flair und seine eigene Bedeutung.

For more than 20 years the Associazione in Musica Limes has been promoting cultural and musical diversity on Lake Garda and was started with the intention of spreading classical music and musical education in this area and making use of local culture, traditions, history and its natural beauty.
The name Limes comes from the Limone area where the association was started and where it has its headquarters but “limes” also means a barrier, a border, which can and should be overcome. The borders between Music and Nature will disappear. Music is introduced in a holistic way, like art that takes its inspiration from nature.
Every year the International Chamber Music Festival includes an aspect of the territory and nature of the Brescia side of Lake Garda : “aque” meaning a spring or fountain, “cuen” – shelters in the rocks, “papillio” – butterflies, “senter” as in tracks or footpaths (and also to hear or to feel), “Aves”, like the birds and “Flores” as in flowers. All this can be found and beautifully photographed as part of Lake Garda’s nature.
This is why Cultura in Musica Limes wants to offer, not simply classical music concerts, but with the intention that, at the same time, they will promote the culture, history, traditions and the territory’s nature. Every year we publish a programme (here you can see previous years’) which gives the dates and concert details, the description of the places and historical buildings where the concerts take place, and real research into the territory.
The 2019 programme will be themed, musically and photographically, around WOOD (Lignum).
Cultura in Musica Limes presents its concerts in historic buildings of great architectural value, in old churches and in the open air, also in places near the shores of Lake Garda: the Lido Palace in Riva del Garda, the Church of San Giovanni in Pieve di Tremosine, the Sanctuary of Monte Castello, Bettoni Palace in Bogliaco/Gargnano, the San Tommaso Convent in Villa di Gargnano, Villa Sostaga in Navazzo/Gargnano, the Church of St. Peter and Paul in Toscolano Maderno, Villa Alba in Gardone which is particularly suitable and well known location for chamber music.
All these places will host our concerts during the warmest months of the year, some by moonlight, some in welcoming venues, but all events will have a special meaning.
